How old is that BOA building? It looks like it’s rather old/historic and fits the neighborhood character. I’m asking because there is an enormous surface lot next door that doesn’t appear to be in use.

Not sure on the building. Believe the project will encompass that entire surface lot/block in an L-shape.

Realty trac says year of construction is 1919. Why aren’t there any preservation laws in “old Westport” that prevent these historic and irreplaceable structures from being bulldozed in order build chain restaurants and housing for the wealthy? Seems like a frivolous demolition for a profit driven change to this historic district.

The building was built in the late 1800s but has undergone four or five remodels. Please read more about answers to some of your questions here: http://midtownkcpost.com/help-save-westport/
