In 40 Weeks, tracking downtown’s transformation
In 40 Weeks is a campaign recently put together by Graphicmachine. The premise of the project centers around the current ‘history being made in downtown Kansas City.’ This includes a number of large building being constructed coinciding with the development of the Downtown Streetcar.
The website asks visitors to make a pledge:
Take the 40 Weeks Pledge to do something downtown every week for the next 40 weeks. See history in the making. Make some memories. Share them. Let’s journal this together. It is your reminder to check in on your downtown, with unique ideas each week that will give you a front row view of transformation.
At the end of each week, social media posts across Twitter and Instagram the use the hashtag #40WeeksDTKC are aggregated into a sort of time capsule for that week in downtown history.
